View the Antioch News from 1888-2006. Issues can only be searched individually. To search the whole set, use Google and type in your keywords, as well as “Antioch News” and “archive.org.”

Local Obituary Database

APLD has put together a database collection of all the obituaries from local newspapers from the late 1800’s to the current year. We are continuously updating this database.

Do you want to be next in line for your favorite author’s Next Book before you even know the title?

Museum Adventure Pass

The Antioch District Library participates in the Museum Adventure Pass program. APLD cardholders can receive free admission or a special discount to participating Chicago area destinations. These offers are good for one week from the pickup date and must be claimed at the Library. For a list of participating organizations and the specials they offer, click the logo to the left. Explore More Illinois

Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that allows Illinois public library cardholders to get offers from museums, park districts, historical societies, performing and visual arts centers, and other attractions. Explore More Illinois is free and can be accessed 24/7 from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. If you have any questions, please visit the Adult Reference Department or call (847) 395-0874 option 2.

The Library has four meeting rooms available on a first come, first serve basis or reserve a meeting room in advance now.

Puzzle Table

Join other community members to work on putting together a puzzle. We have been very fortunate to have many puzzles donated to us by library patrons. Come put a few pieces together or sit for hours. The puzzle table is located on the main floor of the Library in the Reading Room with the fireplace.

Newspaper & Magazine Area

Relax at the Library in the magazine and newspaper area. The Library subscribes to a number of magazines along with many newspapers such as the Daily Herald, the News Sun, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal.
