1000 Books Before Kindergarten

APLD wants to help get your child ready for Kindergarten with a new, free program filled with fun and prizes! 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is designed to promote reading to babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with the goal of reading 1000 books before kindergarten – a goal experts say help children learn to read. We provide reading logs to track progress, reading tips for caregivers, and prizes to children who reach reading milestones. Visit the Children’s Services desk to give your child the tools for reading success today.

Join us for the Tween Graphic Novel Book Club! Once a month we’ll read a graphic novel geared toward 8-12 year olds and meet to discuss it! In March, we will be reading Compass South by Hope Larson and Rebecca Mock!

Registration is now open!
Just head here or call us at (847)-395-0874 to register! Snacks will be provided!
